FEE-FREE Training

In partnership with the NSW Government’s Summer Skills initiative, DATS are offering Fee-Free courses for eligible students in a bid to help individuals develop their skill-set for future employment in the construction industry.

What is Summer Skills / School Leaver training?

The Summer Skills program is a strategy supporting young people, particularly school leavers, to obtain the skills they need in industries where there are immediate job opportunities.  

The program will provide access to fee-free training for eligible students who enrol and commence in part qualifications no later than 24th February 2023.

Am I eligible for Fee-Free Training?

To be eligible for fee-free training under the Summer Skills program you need to:

  • Live or work in NSW

  • Leaving school permanently in 2022 (i.e. Year 11 and 12 school leavers); or

  • Not at school in 2022 and no more than 24 years old.

  • Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen.

What courses are available?

Available nationally accredited courses include:

​

  • White Card and Use hand and power tools
    CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry; RIISAM203E Use hand and power tools

Please note: The above courses are available in Coffs Harbour only.
